Welcome!
Ah, the warmth of good design on a cold winter’s eve…
Lyle Booth began drawing seriously in Kindergarten. A teacher at Corlears School drew him the Joker, running away, seen from a floor level, ¾ side-rear viewpoint. After that, he eschewed crayons and would only draw with black fine point ink pens in class, which teachers would hook him up with, provided he didn’t tell the other kids where he got them. Some time later, while attending the Bronx High School of Science, the School Art League of New York City awarded him the Haney Medallion for a pen & ink drawing of a hand drawing with pen & ink.
He received his BS in Graphic Design from Hofstra University with a minor in Film and then went backpacking across Europe. There, he paid for a week at a Youth Hostel in Doolin, Ireland, by drawing a cartoon ad for them. Upon his return, Lyle worked in advertising while taking professional courses in 3D Modeling and Animation at The School of Visual Arts. Following a particularly auspicious game of Pictionary at a company Christmas party, Lyle was invited to join Sesame Workshop’s Interactive Division to animate Muppets. At Sesame, he earned the title of Senior Lead Artist and Creative Designer, crafting award-winning educational computer games for children. For fun, he played bass in bands at CBGB’s and other far less reputable venues.
Lyle then turned to TV, film and print, joining United Scenic Artists Local 829 in New York City as a Graphic Designer. Kicking it off at Law & Order Criminal Intent, his résumé now includes over fifty productions and globally recognized properties. He still plays bass, but in nicer places.
